The Portuguese Catholic University is one of the most prestigious in Portugal. With more than 50 years of history and a total of 44,000 graduates in the last 44 years, it remains at the head of the universities chosen by a large number of students from different geographical points. It was founded in 1967, and obtained official recognition in 1971.

Among its many features, it stands out as the first Portuguese modern university not founded by the government, but it is the result of the agreement between the Portuguese government and the Vatican, which established the university under the tutelage of the Catholic Church.

In spite of being a single institution, it is distributed in four different campuses, located throughout the country:

  • Braga
  • Viseu
  • Porto
  • Lisbon (headquarters)

Our student residence Collegiate Marquês de Pombal is strategically located a short distance from the campus, offering exceptional accommodation for those students who decide to study at the Lisbon headquarters of the Portuguese Catholic University.

With a huge academic offering, students at the Portuguese Catholic University can deepen their knowledge across a wide range of subjects, from economics to health and everything in between, with a varied selection of degrees and postgraduate degrees.

We want to help Lisbon’s students get the most out of their time at university, so (thanks to an exclusive collaboration agreement) Collegiate is now exclusively offering up to a € 100 discount to students enrolled at the Portuguese Catholic University when choosing the best student accommodation Lisbon has to offer: Collegiate Marquês de Pombal (full Terms & Conditions apply).
